Psalm 63:1 Thirst For God In A Dry and Parched Land Where There Is No Water

Psalm 63:1

psalm 63:1

You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.

When the land that King David was in provided no nourishment he turned to the LORD. This act was in complete recognition of the fact that it is God who provides all nourishment. It is God that would truly satisfy his cravings. David goes on to say in Psalm 63:5 – you satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise you with songs of great joy.

Let this verse serve as a reminder that it is not the world that satisfies our hunger but God who provides all things. Jesus is the bread of life and the living water (John 6:35).
